******Just Released -- The Half Century Show Schedule******

Real Horsepower at the Half Century of Progress III !!  Draft horses take the spotlight as the Half Century crew takes aim at another World Record.  Draft horse teams will hitch in ever increasing numbers until the record 48 horses are at work pulling modern tillage equipment in the fields.  There have been large horse hitches assembled before, but never have so many been hitched to actually pull.  Teams of up to 40 horses were assembled to pull some of the early ground driven ground driven combines in the western wheat belt in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  This will certainly be first for the 21st century.

"Class of '57" Reunion  All tractors, equipment, cars, trucks, and anything built in 1957 exhibited at the show will receive special recognition.   The Parade of Power on Saturday will feature the "Class of '57"

Crawler Tractors are featured at the Half Century show this year.  Tracklaying tractors have made significant contributions to agriculture as well as in construction and forestry.   Crawler tractors became popular in area with soft soils where increased floatation and traction were needed. Crawlers quickly caught in with earthmoving and construction business, in part due to the traction and floatation advantages, and also due to the ruggedness of the tracks outlasting more vulnerable rubber tires.
There will be a special area for crawlers to show off their talents, as well as working in the fields.  A special area has been set aside for construction equipment to " play in the dirt" as well.

Tracklayers will be the stars of the Parade of Power on Saturday

And, so much more
All of this plus the static displays and parts vendors, and of course the nearly 200 acres of cropland to be harvested and tilled during the show make this a show that has to be seen!  We are also recognizing the contributions that FFA members and Alumni have made to the constant improvement in agriculture technology.  Special FFA events will be held on the grounds in 2008
