Danville, Illinois                          30 Miles

Rantoul has several motels and restaurants ranging from fast food to local eateries.
Champaign-Urbana is the home of the University of Illinois, and has many hotels/motels in all price ranges and levels of amenities.  Numerous restaurants and night spots range from Campustown hangouts to fast food and franchise theme restaurants to local restaurants with excellent reputations.
Danville is a bit farther away, but still offers a number of  motels and many restaurants in different price ranges

-- Early American Muesum, at the Champaign County Forest Preserve, Mahomet, Illinois.  Local pioneer history and artifacts plus botanical gardens.
-- Vermilion County Museum, Danville, Illinois.  Local history and restored home of Dr. Fithian, a prominent citizen of Danville.
