Historic
Farm Days
--Frequently
Asked
Questions--
If I'm bringing my
tractor to
the show do I have to pay admission?
-- No, we do not charge exhibitors for admission.
All
exhibitors and vendors receive passes to enter the grounds during the
show. Spouses and children are included.
I'm
bringing my camper, where
can I park it?
-- We have ample space for primitive (dry) camping on the
grounds. There is no water or electricity access in the
camping
area. Shower rooms are located in the gymnasium in the
Penfield
School. There are several campgrounds with varying amenities
within reasonable distances, please check the Motels
and More page for contact
information.
I (or someone in my
party)
have difficulty walking long distances, can I bring my golf cart or
utility vehicle?
-- Yes, we allow golf carts and utility vehicles such as
Gators,
Mules, Rangers, etc. on the grounds. We also rent golf
carts by
the hour,
half or full day on a first come-first serve basis.
If bringing
your own vehicle, please register it at the golf cart rental tent.
Three and four wheel ATVs are prohibited. All
drivers must
be 16 years of age or over. Please be courteous, pedestrians
always have the right of way. Excessive speed, reckless
behavior,
or other unsafe actions may result in suspension of this
privilege. So far, we have not restricted the use of such
vehicles, but increasing congestion has caused problems at times, and
this policy may change in the future.
How
can I get around the grounds?
-- We have several shuttles that constantly tour the
grounds,
all are equipped with comfortable seating and most have sunshades.
One is equipped with a ramp for wheelchair access.
There is no
charge to ride the shuttles. There is usually a shuttle in the
Parking lot to bring visitors to the main gate. Shuttle
use can be arranged in advance for tour groups, and guides can be
furnished on request for such groups.
I
don't have a "Featured Brand"
tractor (or engine, etc) can I still
bring it to your show?
-- Yes, we are open to all antique and vintage tractors, gas
engines and equipment. We also like to see antique cars and
trucks on display as well.
Where is Penfield, Illinois? How
do I get there?
-- Penfield is about two hours south of Chicago, or about
two hours west of Indianapolis. Find Interstate highways 74
and 57 on your map of Illinois, look about 20 miles northeast of where
they cross and you'll find Penfield located 1/2 mile south of US route
136.
